Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 Calendar 2026-2027

District 125 begins where six independent elementary systems end. Aptakisic-Tripp District 102, Kildeer Countryside District 96, Lincolnshire-Prairie View District 103, Diamond Lake District 76, Fremont District 79, and Hawthorn District 73 each manage their own schools through eighth grade. Students who live inside the District 125 boundary then come together at a single school, Adlai E. Stevenson High School. The elementary district shown on a family’s earlier records does not establish high-school eligibility; residence within District 125 controls admission.

That one-school structure creates an unusually large point of convergence in ninth grade. Students arrive from different middle schools with different schedules, course sequences, extracurricular traditions, and peer groups. Stevenson’s Freshman Mentor Program is built around that transition: upperclass mentors work with small freshman advisory groups throughout the year, helping students learn the campus and form connections across former feeder-district lines. The program runs throughout the school year as part of Stevenson’s operating structure, carrying the transition work well beyond the first days of orientation.

For families, the district distinction matters in everyday planning. A child may spend K–8 in one district and grades 9–12 in another, with separate boards, registration systems, transportation rules, and calendars. Private-school students living inside the District 125 boundary may also be eligible to enroll at Stevenson, but must document residency. The district’s identity is concentrated in one high school, while the routes into that school remain administratively separate until eighth-grade graduation.
