Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 Calendar 2026-2027

Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 serves prekindergarten through eighth grade through nine elementary schools and three middle schools. Its territory extends beyond Crystal Lake into parts of neighboring communities, making the district’s address tool more reliable than a municipal or postal label.

The current middle-school map is already settled. Boundaries approved in December 2024 took effect in 2025–26 and now govern assignment to Hannah Beardsley, Richard Bernotas, and Lundahl.

Elementary planning remains at a different stage. District materials continue to examine attendance lines, program locations, and possible grade-center arrangements, but state that elementary changes would not begin before 2027–28. Those maps remain proposals until the board completes the process.

Dual language is a parent-choice route currently located at Canterbury, Coventry, and North elementary schools and at Hannah Beardsley and Lundahl middle schools. English-speaking students enter at kindergarten, and demand can require a lottery; accepted families are asked to commit through eighth grade. After District 47 ends, high-school assignment is made by a separate district, commonly Community High School District 155. The present elementary map, the implemented middle-school map, the dual-language route, and the later high-school boundary carry different authorities and, in the case of the elementary review, different effective dates.
