Geneva Community Unit School District 304 Calendar 2026-2027

Geneva Community Unit School District 304 begins with six elementary schools and ends at one high school, but the middle-school assignment between them is unusual. Geneva Middle School North and Geneva Middle School South are separate grades 6–8 schools situated beside one another on the same campus. They maintain different addresses, offices, principals, and attendance records despite names and proximity that can make them appear to be two wings of one school.

The district’s balanced-enrollment process divides every elementary group between the two middle schools. Approximately half is assigned to North and half to South. The decision is communicated when a student enters second grade; students who move into the district later are assigned under the district’s later-entry process. An elementary-school name alone does not identify the future middle school.

Students from North and South later reunite at Geneva High School, so the division lasts for three grades and creates no separate long-term high-school routes. A friend, neighborhood, or elementary-school name does not prove the middle assignment. The district assigns all siblings to the building of the oldest sibling, an explicit continuity rule that a simple feeder table would miss. Published elementary maps are general representations, and transportation staff provide precise address determinations. Geography determines the elementary school; the balancing process divides each elementary community between two adjacent middle schools before students reunite at the high school.
