About Maywood-Melrose Park-Broadview School District 89
Maywood-Melrose Park-Broadview School District 89 ends after eighth grade and operates six elementary schools, Irving and Stevenson middle schools, and Washington Dual Language Academy. The ordinary route begins with an address-assigned elementary school and then one of the two grades 6–8 middle schools.
Washington follows a different K–8 design. Its two-way English–Spanish program accepts applicants under current language, capacity, sibling, and commitment rules, allowing admitted students to remain in one academy through eighth grade instead of moving into Irving or Stevenson.
The neighborhood sequence and Washington's K–8 sequence both end under District 89. Ninth grade normally begins in the independently governed Proviso Township High Schools District 209, where the East–West residence boundary and selective academy admissions are determined anew.
