Central Community Unit School District 301 Calendar 2026-2027

Central Community Unit School District 301 serves a wide, fast-growing territory that includes developed subdivisions and less densely settled areas across parts of several communities. School assignment follows attendance boundaries, and the district does not use open enrollment as a general way to choose another campus. Residency verification, bus eligibility, and route planning carry more weight than a simple “nearest school” assumption.

Four elementary schools—Country Trails, Howard B. Thomas, Lily Lake, and Prairie View—feed Central Middle School or Prairie Knolls Middle School before students come together at Central High School. A precise address can affect both elementary and middle placement even though every ordinary route eventually reaches the same high school.

Enrollment growth has prompted repeated facility discussions. In 2024, the district asked voters to finance a new high school and later convert existing buildings to other grade levels. The referendum did not pass, so the associated conversion diagrams never became an approved implementation plan.

Central 301 remains a one-high-school district under its current map.
