Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 Calendar 2026-2027

Four “house” systems organize much of Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202’s large K–12 network. Each house links groups of elementary and middle schools to Plainfield Central, North, East, or South, although the relationship is not always a single unbroken feeder chain. Because the district crosses several municipalities and unincorporated areas, the current address locator is more dependable than a Plainfield, Joliet, Romeoville, or other postal label.

The boundary change that took effect for 2026–27 was narrower than the district’s full review. The Board adjusted only high-school attendance boundaries, moving students in selected areas from Plainfield North to Plainfield East or Plainfield Central. Elementary and middle-school boundary changes were deferred for later research and discussion.

A student’s elementary and middle schools may remain unchanged while the high-school destination changes. An older feeder chart can still identify the correct earlier campuses and produce the wrong current high school; the active high-school map governs new enrollment unless a published transition provision applies.

District 202 continues to study long-range enrollment, facilities, and capacity. Those later discussions do not create additional current choices or replace the high-school changes already in effect. The four houses remain one districtwide framework, with present high-school assignment and future elementary or middle-school planning on different timelines.
