J. Sterling Morton High School District 201 Calendar 2026-2027

J. Sterling Morton High School District 201 uses two different ninth-grade entry patterns. Incoming freshmen who live in Cicero register at the Morton Freshman Center, a separate grade-nine campus, and then move to Morton East for grades 10–12. Freshmen from Berwyn, Stickney, Lyons, McCook, and Forest View register at Morton West, where the Freshman Academy operates inside the main building before students continue there through grades 10–12. The district does not use one uniform “home high school from ninth grade” model.

The community attached to the residence matters, but the exact District 201 boundary still controls eligibility. Current freshman registration uses Cicero residence for the Freshman Center and the western communities for Morton West; completion of eighth grade in a particular K–8 district does not replace residence verification near municipal or district edges.

Morton Alternative School and the district’s transition services form additional educational settings without becoming neighborhood high schools. Placement depends on student needs and district processes and has no attendance zone. The visible East–West distinction begins in ninth grade: Cicero students enter a freestanding Freshman Center before Morton East, while western-community students start inside Morton West.
