About New Trier Township High School District 203
Northfield and Winnetka are successive campuses of the same New Trier High School. Ninth graders attend Northfield; students in grades 10–12 attend Winnetka. The move after freshman year is part of the standard New Trier sequence, so residence determines eligibility for the district while grade determines the daily campus.
New Trier receives students from independent K–8 districts serving Wilmette, Winnetka, Glencoe, Northfield, Kenilworth, and parts of Glenview. Those sender systems do not divide students into different New Trier high schools. A typical student enters Northfield in grade 9, moves to Winnetka in grade 10, and remains enrolled in the same institution throughout. The Transition Center in Glencoe serves eligible young adults at a later individualized stage through community-based instruction and postsecondary planning.
