Moline-Coal Valley School District 40 Calendar 2026-2027

Moline-Coal Valley School District 40 uses three different entry mechanisms within one PK–12 system. Most students begin with a neighborhood assignment, continue into one of two middle-school communities, and finish at Moline High School. Near the district edge, the current boundary matters more than a Moline or Coal Valley mailing label.

The dual-language route is centered at Lincoln-Irving. Students living inside that school’s boundary automatically have the option to participate. Spanish-speaking students elsewhere in District 40 may request a transfer when they meet the language criteria and space is available. The one-way model begins with a high proportion of Spanish instruction and moves gradually toward an even Spanish-English balance in the upper elementary grades.

ASPIRE serves grades 6–12 on the northeast wing of the Moline High campus. It offers smaller classes, flexible scheduling, counseling, individualized instruction, and credit support for students referred through school Student Solutions Teams; parent requests may begin the conversation but do not determine placement. Neighborhood assignment, a qualified dual-language transfer, and an ASPIRE referral thus lead to different campus experiences under the same district.
